Tocotrienols and tocopherols are fat-soluble antioxidants (each with four forms - alpha-, beta-, gamma-, and delta-) that together make up the vitamin E family. They share an identical structure except that tocotrienols have three double bonds added to their side chains. Naturally-occurring forms of tocotrienols and tocopherols - such as edible oils in plants (palm, rice, wheat, barley, oats, etc.) - are abundant. Particularly in the palm tocotrienol form, they have significant health benefits, in addition to serving as a powerful antioxidant: helping to support healthy cholesterol levels and contribute to eye and beauty/skin health.

Clinical Science:
A number of studies have shown how tocotrienols, especially of the palm oil variety, offer cardioprotection, with gamma-tocotrienol having the greatest effect of all the isomers. University of Connecticut medical researchers found that gamma-tocotrienol was the most effective in improving post-ischemic ventricular function, reducing the size of a heart attack, and helping to enhance survival after a heart attack.
